TVNZ Award for Marketing Leadership

The award, given for the best performance of a campaign, was one of the most hotly contested categories with 15 finalists. The judges agreed that the Let’s Talk Crap!’ campaign showed “Marketing Leadership in an otherwise barren environment.” They commented that “It was a bold concept... but the ROI was evident and it had a big community impact”.

Mad Ideas was amongst a select handful of agencies to receive multiple nominations and was also a finalist in the ‘Best Government Sector’ and ‘Marketing Innovation’ awards.

New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards

We entered the 'Let's Talk Crap' campaign we created for the Far North District Council into the New Zealand Direct Marketing Awards. We were up against some of New Zealand’s biggest agencies and were thrilled to take home the Gold Award for Best Campaign in the Government/Public Sector.

Tall Poppy Business Awards

We took a break from entering any awards for a couple of years but were pleased to be recognised this year with the Gold Award for Service Industry at this year’s Tall Poppy Business Awards. The awards are designed to recognise, encourage and celebrate outstanding business achievement across the region.

Tall Poppy Business Award

The 2010 Top Energy Tall Poppy Business Awards was a truly golden night for Mad Ideas and our customers. We were very excited to take home the Gold Award for the Service Industry Category, and equally pleased for our clients Nic and Neil Brazier from the Pear Tree Restaurant & Bar who won Gold for Best Emerging Business.

A special congratulations goes to our longstanding client Natural Timber Creations, who won both Gold in Manufacturing and the Judge’s Special Commendation Award.

What Our Clients Say

  • “We have no hesitation in recommending the services of MAD ideas and can confidently say that whatever the project, Debbie Ryder will deliver a superb result. She will deliver the project on time and within budget.”

    Mary Armstrong - Manager
    Webb Ross Lawyers

  • ...“We knew we’d got it right when a national magazine containing a feature article on one of our kitchens and our ‘new look’ ad resulted in an enquiry the first day it went on sale.”

    John Marley - Company director
    Natural Timber Creations

  • “We can always rely on Mad Ideas for a creative solution to whatever challenge we set. Initiatives like our ‘Mr Chef’ (cooking classes for retired men) and the ‘Design a Pillowcase’ Charity Auction, which raised money for new mattresses in the Care Facility, have created good exposure for us and raised awareness that we are a not-for-profit organisation. Whatever the task, we know that Debbie will give it her total focus and keep everyone involved on track from the time the idea is first mooted, until the work is complete.”

    Frances Shaw
    Village Manager

  • “The porcelain toilet bowl displays and long drops dotted around town quickly became a talking point, as did the toilet roll mascot ‘Roley’ who became well-known during the campaign. The publicity materials displayed or given out at high- traffic areas, such as supermarkets, also helped the Council to get the message out to a large section of the population it would otherwise have struggled to connect with. Because of this high level of interest, the Council had good attendances at public meetings. It also received a high number of submissions.”

    Richard Edmondson
    Communications Manager

  • “We are too busy to think about the marketing side of things and it’s not our area of expertise. When we need anything done we just ring Debbie tell her what we want, and when we want it and she makes it happen. She always comes up with really creative solutions and the work is done quickly and to a high standard.

She just makes everything easy for us.”

    Paul Christie
    Ten4 Engineering

  • “I’ve never had to do anything like this before so it was great to work with someone who knew exactly what was required and made the process so easy. We get heaps of comments about how good our logo and website look and new clients often think that our firm is bigger than it is because of our presentation.”

    Evan Davis-Goff
    Owner

  • “Whenever anyone tries to sell us advertising we just refer them to Debbie and she decides whether it’s a good fit. It saves us heaps of time and we are not wasting money on things that don’t work. We are spending less and we know that our marketing really works.”
